DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team finished No. 15 in the nation for highest team GPA while seeing 14 of its student-athletes named Scholastic All-Americans, the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association announced on Monday.
Denver ended the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.76, making No. 13-ranked DU one of only two teams to rank in the top 15 nationally both academically and athletically – joining Florida (No. 7 athletically, No. 10 academically).
Within the Big 12 Conference, Denver held the second highest team GPA, behind only Arizona's 3.82.
In total, 14 of Denver's 15 gymnasts were recognized as WCGA Scholastic All-Americans, ranking the team No. 5 in the country for highest percentage of its roster to do so for 2024-25. It is the first time Denver has appeared in the top five since the statistic was first tracked in 2015.
DU's 14 WCGA Scholastic All-America honorees are a new program record for a single season, besting the previous record of 13 from 2007. This year also becomes a program record for highest percentage of the roster to earn the award at 93.33%, also finishing ahead of 2007's 92.86%.

Four DU gymnasts finished their collegiate careers earning WCGA Scholastic All-America status in every season: Mundell and Thompson in all five seasons, and Hebinck and Iwai in all four. Brusch, Cooley and A. Mabanta are on track to join them after earning their third honors through their first three seasons.
Gallen, B. Mabanta, Rorich and Ulrich each collected their second WCGA academic awards. Casali, Hampp and Hargraves all became first-time honorees.
The University of Denver gymnastics team reached its sixth consecutive NCAA Regional Final in 2025 after tying with No. 4 Utah for first place and upsetting then-No. 13 Stanford in the NCAA Second Round. Denver was just three tenths from a team berth to the NCAA National Championships, placing behind only eventual NCAA runner-up UCLA and NCAA finalist Utah.
