DENVER – University of Denver men's soccer sophomore forward Keegan Kelly has been named to the 2025 New Zealand Under-20 World Cup squad ahead of the competition in Chile that begins on Saturday, September 27.
Kelly's final match before leaving for international duty will be on Sunday at 3 p.m. MT against Mercer.
New Zealand is in Group A with the hosts Chile, Japan and Egypt. The Junior All Whites are set to participate in their seventh-consecutive FIFA U-20 World Cup, and will aim to reach the quarterfinals in the competition for the first time in their history. In each of the past four editions of the tournament, New Zealand has been knocked out in the round of 16.
In the OFC U-19 Men's Championship to qualify for the 2025 U-20 World Cup, New Zealand won all five matches without conceding a goal.
Kelly scored four goals and had three assists in 21 matches in his freshman season a year ago, including goals against Garnder-Webb and Indiana to become the first Pioneer to score in back-to-back NCAA Tournament matches in program history. The Denver striker entered the 2025 College Cup on a five-match point streak, recording all three of his assists between November 9 and December 7.

Denver will close out a stretch of five of its seven matches at home in 2025 when the Pioneers welcome Mercer to the Mile High City on Sunday. Opening kickoff of the back half of a women's and men's double header is set for 3 p.m. MT, and the match will be streamed live on the Summit League Network.
