BOULDER, Colo. -- The University of Denver women's volleyball team earned its first Power Four win under Coach Pendergast over the Arkansas Razorbacks (21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 20-25, 15-10) on Saturday afternoon in the CU Events Center.
The win marks the first road win over a Power Four opponent since August 27, 2021 at [RV] USC and first win over an SEC opponent since September 6, 2008 against Tennessee.Â
DU had four players with double-digit kills:
Jamia Johnson (14),
Alicia Thibodeau (12),
Ava Reynolds (11) and
Genevieve Lewis (10). On the defensive end, Maddie Winkler had a career-high 10 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1
Denver took an early 6-3 lead in the first stanza. Arkansas tied the set at 14 and built a 19-16 lead. The Pioneers cut the lead to two but ultimately dropped the set, 25-21.

SET 2
Denver jumped out to a 10-2 lead to start the second stanza with Maddie Winkler making an appearance at libero. The Pioneers capitalized on Arkansas's 11 errors to earn a 25-17 set two win.

SET 3
Arkansas took 2-0 lead to start the set but Denver battled to tie it 5-5. The Pioneers fought to a 13-11 lead. DU and Arkansas traded the lead back and forth before taking control at 23-21 to earn the set three win.

SET 4
The Pioneers and the Razorbacks traded blows back and forth before Arkansas took an 18-15 lead and won the set.

SET 5
DU and Arkansas went back and forth to start before the Pioneers took the 8-6 lead. Denver took a 5-0 run to extend the lead to 13-8 and won the set 15-10 off a huge block by
Elise Hart and
Alicia Thibodeau.
