Denver Falls to Colorado in Straight Sets

Box Score BOULDER, Colo. -- The University of Denver women's volleyball team fell in straight sets (20-25, 23-25, 15-25) to the Colorado Buffaloes on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

SET 1
Denver and Colorado battled back and forth to start set two before the Buffs took a 14-9 lead. Denver battled but couldn't overcome the deficit and dropped the set, 25-20.

SET 2
The Buffs took an early 5-2 lead and were able to extend it to 10-5. The Pioneers took a 3-0 run to cut the deficit to 11-12. CU was able to build momentum to build it back out to 20-13. Denver fought all the way through the second stanza, and cut CU's lead to one but ultimately dropped the set, 25-23.

SET 3
The Pioneers struggled out the gate and dropped the final set, 25-15.
