DENVER – The University of Denver women's triathlon team announced today the program has hired
Jacob Wolf as an assistant coach.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Jacob onto my staff and join our Pioneer family," said Head Coach
Barbara Perkins. "He brings a draft-legal background to our squad and served in multiple leadership positions on the UC San Diego Tri Club in addition to serving as the Race Director for the Tritonman Triathlon. He has experience as a bike mechanic, worked with Olympic medalist Michellie Jones and brings a wealth of knowledge on what it takes to run a team behind the scenes."
In his position, Wolf will join Perkins' staff and contribute to all training and operational needs of the triathlon program.
Wolf comes to Denver after spending four years as an athlete on the University of California San Diego club triathlon team from 2021 to 2025, where he served as a team captain during the 2022-23 season and team president in 2024-25. He also led the annual Tritonman Triathlon as race director in 2024 after being an assistant to the race director in 2023. In those roles, he worked closely with USA Triathlon and the City of San Diego to put on a safe and fair event while also organizing more than 80 volunteers in what is one of the top season-opening triathlons in the country.
The Milwaukie, Oregon, native competed at the USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championships in each of his four years at UCSD after running four years of varsity track in high school. Wolf also worked as a bike mechanic at the UCSD campus bike shop as a senior.
Wolf graduated from UC San Diego in 2025 with a bachelor's degree in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience.
