Pittsburgh native set to be a grad student on the Pioneers in 2026
DENVER – University of Denver triathlon announced today that Coco Reed is set to join the Pioneers program for the fall 2026 season as a graduate student.
"With the incredible team environment and coaching staff, as well as the applied master's program and prime location in the heart of Denver, I felt at home instantly," said Reed on choosing DU.
The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native has recorded several top-10 finishes in recent World Triathlon and USA Triathlon events, which included being the top American finisher and placing fourth in her age group (20-24 female) this past fall at the World Triathlon Age-Group Sprint Championships in Wollongong, Australia, on Oct. 15, 2025 (1:10.04). She also came in sixth in the 2024 USA Triathlon Age-Group Sprint National Championships in Atlantic City, New Jersey (1:11:57).
Reed has competed in several distance running events in recent years, including 2024 Philadelphia Marathon (3:14.25) and 2023 Pittsburgh Half Marathon (1:34.40). She posted a PR on Monday at the 2026 Boston Marathon (3:09.26).
She will complete her bachelor's degree in public health from the University of Pittsburgh this spring and will earn her master's degree in sport and performance psychology at DU. She graduated high school in 2022 at Aquinas Academy in Pittsburgh where she was a member of student council.
Reed and her family are no stranger to triathlons, as her father is an Ironman and her brother is a professional triathlete after running collegiately at RPI. In addition, her sister-in-law is Emily Pincus, who raced on the Denver triathlon team in 2021-22 and is also a professional triathlete.
