Denver Gymnastics Ranks No. 15 Nationally After Week 3

Cooley maintains No. 1 floor ranking; DU holds top-20 spots on all four events

DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team is ranked No. 15 in the Week 3 Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.

Denver posted a 195.850 in its first road meet of the year at then-No. 25 Texas Woman's in a tri meet with Arizona on January 16, despite missing key routines on all four events. After shuffling lineups throughout the meet and welcoming more collegiate debuts, DU counted 20 hit routines and saw its gymnasts claim at least a share of four of the five individual titles.

TEAM NATIONAL RANKINGS
Overall: No. 15 (196.213 average)
Vault: tie-No. 19 (48.988)
Bars: tie-No. 20 (48.950)
Beam: tie-No. 16 (48.975)
Floor: No. 8 (49.300)

DU improved its bars ranking by three spots compared to Week 2, giving Denver top-20 rankings on all four events. For the second week in a row, the floor squad holds a spot inside the top 10.

INDIVIDUAL NATIONAL RANKINGS
Senior Cecilia Cooley
Floor: tie-No. 1 (9.950)

Junior Maddison Reidenbach
All-Around: tie-No. 18 (39.275)

Freshman Shyla Bhatia
Vault: tie-No. 20 (9.875)

Cooley backed up her near-perfect floor score in the season opener with a 9.925 in the tri meet at Texas Woman's, giving her at least a share of the nation's No. 1 ranking on the event for a second straight week. She becomes just the second Denver gymnast to hold a No. 1 floor ranking in back-to-back weeks since Nina McGee did so twice during the 2016 season.

Reidenbach moved up a spot in the all-around rankings after equaling her score from the season opener with a 39.275. She won the all-around title outright in the Texas Woman's tri meet in what was just her second collegiate all-around appearance.

Bhatia helped lead Denver's vault squad on Friday night with a strong Yurchenko 1.5, keeping her in the top 20 nationally on the event after she stuck the vault in the season opener. She has now finished in the top two in the final event standings in consecutive meets.

No. 15 Denver stays on the road for another week, this time heading to West Virginia for its Big 12 Conference opener on Saturday, January 24.
