Denver to Host North Dakota State

DENVER -- The Denver Pioneers host the North Dakota State Bison on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. MT in Hamilton Gymnasium. 

The Pioneers are 13-16 all-time against the Bison. Denver fell to NDSU, 59-64, on February 20, 2025 in Hamilton Gymnasium.

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
•The Pioneers opened Summit League play with a 64-57 win over North Dakota in Hamilton Gymnasium.
•DU hosts North Dakota State on January 3rd in Hamilton Gymnasium.
•Denver travels to Minnesota to take on St. Thomas on January 8.

UNIVERSITY OF DENVER ACCEPTS WCC INVITE FOR 2026-27
•On October 31, the University of Denver announced it has accepted an invitation to join the West Coast Conference in nine sports, beginning in the 2026-27 season.  
•Denver will join the West Coast Conference in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis and women's volleyball.
•The move provides Denver with a significant enhancement to the overall reputation of the university and brand association, allying DU with highly regarded, mostly private institutions with stronger academic ranking and profiles that will further strengthen the university's position in the western United States. 

LONG BALL ELITE
•The Pioneers lead the conference in three-point attempts per game and three-pointers per game, averaging 7.2 treys per contest.
Coryn Watts paces the Summit League with 34 threes (33rd in the nation), good for 2.62 per contest (second in the league and 55th in the nation).
•The sophomore is ninth in the nation with 102 three point attempts. 

PICKING POCKETS
Laia Monclova leads the Summit League and ranks 60th in the nation with 31 steals through the first 13 contests. Coryn Watts ranks second in the league with 28 steals, good for 101st in the country. 
•Monclova's 2.38 steals/game lead the league and are 85th in the nation. 
Tori Baker tied for the third-most steals in a single game in program history with seven takeaways in the victory over North Dakota.
•The Pioneers average 8.1 steals per game, ranking fifth in the Summit League.

WORKIN' WITH WATTS
•Sophomore Guard Coryn Watts scored a career-high 32 points in the Dec. 19 win over California Baptist, good for ninth-most by a Pioneer in a single game in program history.
•The Colorado native leads the team and the league and ranks 21st in the nation with 35.14 minutes per game.
•Watts ranks 3rd in the nation in field goal attempts and 14th in field goals, 13th in points, and 19th in points per game.
•From behind the arc, Watts is 33rd in the nation with 34 three-pointers and 55th in the nation with 2.62 treys per contest.
