LAST TIME OUT:
Denver opened its 2026 dual season with a 6-1 win over future West Coast Conference opponent Seattle on January 23. DU started the day with a win in doubles, losing just three combined games in its two clinching wins at Nos. 2 and 3. Seniors Claudia Martinez de Velasco and Louise Wikander secured the point with a 6-2 win at No. 2, helping them earn Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week honors while senior Zoe Adkins earned a win in what was her first dual appearance as a Pioneer, doing so with sophomore Natálie Cinková, 6-1.

In singles, DU captured five wins in straight sets. For the first time in her career, Cinková posted a double bagel to kick things off for Denver. Martinez de Velasco followed at the No. 4 slot to put Denver within a point of the win, which freshman Yunfei Cai did after dropping just two game in her first collegiate dual match. Wikander and freshman Ruby Hansen each won a set in a tiebreak and added a dominant win in their other set won to give DU its fifth and sixth points on the day. The team's only loss came in a 10-point match tiebreak.

Wikander, who played at the No. 1 singles spot for the first time in her career, earned Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors to give DU a sweep of the weekly conference awards.
