DENVER – The University of Denver men's lacrosse program has finalized its 2026 schedule that includes eight home games, five non-conference contests and BIG EAST home games against Georgetown, St. John's and Marquette, William G. Tierney Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Matt Brown announced on Tuesday.
Denver will open on January 31 against Cleveland State at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. The season opener will be Denver's second regular season game in the month of January since joining Division I in 1998, with the other match-up coming against Utah in 2021, a 9-8 opening day win for Denver at Peter Barton.
The Pioneers will then welcome Air Force to Peter Barton, the second game in a stretch of four of five to start the campaign at PBLS. Denver is 17-1 in the last 18 meetings with the Academy.
DU's lone road game in the season-opening stretch sees the Pioneers travel to Utah on Valentines Day before returning home to host Cornell on February 21 and Michigan on February 28.
Denver and Utah have met in six of the seven seasons since the Utes were elevated to Division I, while the Pioneers and Big Red will meet for the third-consecutive season (1-1).
Former conference foes in the ECAC, Denver and Michigan will meet for the fourth time overall at the end of next month, and for the first time since a 16-11 win for the Pioneers in the 2024 NCAA First Round at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
This season's lone multi-game weekend comes in the middle of March when the Pioneers travel to Columbus to take on Ohio State on March 12 before returning home to host Syracuse on March 16, part of a
home and home announced earlier this offseason.
The Pioneers will make their first of a minimum of three trips to the east coast on March 22 when Denver heads to Duke for DU's non-conference finale.
DU's five-game BIG EAST slate will see Denver host Georgetown (March 28), St. John's (April 11) and Marquette (April 24) and travel to Villanova (April 4) and Providence (April 18).
The 2026 BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship will be hosted by Providence April 30-May 2.
