Denver Men’s Golf Finishes Fifth at Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational

BOULDER, Colo. – The University of Denver men's golf team wrapped up the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational in fifth place Tuesday, finishing the 54-hole tournament at seven-under par at Boulder Country Club.
Denver carded a two-over-par 282 in the final round to finish at 7-under par as a team across the tournament.
Zander Grant led the Pioneers in the final round, firing a five-under-par 67 to climb into a tie for 17th overall at two-under par. Arthur Akpinar followed with a two-over 70, finishing tied for ninth at four-under par.
Jet Hernandez carded a 73 in the final round to finish tied for 23rd at even par after making a 17-spot climb on the leaderboard. Brayden Bozak posted a 72 and finished tied for 32nd at two-over par, while Ryder Odem rounded out Denver's lineup with a 78.

The Pioneers opened the tournament with a 10-under-par performance before shooting one-over in the second round and two-over in the final round.
Denver returns to action Oct. 12-14 at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational in Stockton, California.
