The Pioneers enter Wednesday's contest looking to earn their first win of the season after opening the campaign with a 66-45 loss at Air Force on Monday.
Denver battled the Falcons through the first half, heading into the break tied at 27-27 before Air Force outscored the Pioneers 39-18 over the final two quarters.
Senior guard Karolina Padilla led Denver with a career-high 16 points, while Brooke Murrell pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. Victoria Baker added nine points and six rebounds.
Denver returns eight players from last season's roster, bringing back an experienced group as the Pioneers begin a new campaign.
Senior guard Laia Monclova headlines the returning core after averaging 9.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 2025-26 while leading the team with 63 steals. Murrell also returns after averaging 5.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest, while Baker contributed 7.3 points per game as a freshman.
Wednesday's game also marks the first meeting between Denver and Lindenwood in the programs' modern Division I history. The Lions opened their season Monday with a 63-46 loss to Colorado State and enter the matchup at 0-1.
The home opener marks Denver's first game at Hamilton Gymnasium under head coach Erik Johnson since his return to the program. Johnson previously led the Pioneers from 2008-12, compiling a 72-52 record across four seasons and guiding Denver to four consecutive seasons at .500 or better. He begins his second stint in Denver with a new coaching staff as the Pioneers enter their first season in the West Coast Conference.
