GOODYEAR,Ariz. -- The University of Denver men's golf team is in third place at 18-under after the first 36-holes of the Loyola Intercollegiate at the Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Arizona.
The Pioneers' 277 in the second round is tied for the lowest single-round score under third-year head coach
Gary Bissell (277 on April 29 in Round Two of Summit League Championship), and the single lowest team round since Oct. 30 2021 when Denver shot a 273 in the second round of the Ka'anapali Invitational. The 36-hole score of 558 is also the lowest recorded under Bissell.
Loyola and Richmond are tied atop the team leaderboard at 20-under, followed by Denver at 3-under. Campbell Kerr (Grand Canyon) and Carson Baez are tied for first on the individual side at 11-under, followed by
Jet Hernandez at 9-under.
