DENVER – University of Denver men's tennis players
Ryoma Mishiro and
Samuel Rovai were together named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Doubles Team of the Week for the fifth week of the season, the Summit League announced on Tuesday.
The Denver senior and sophomore began the weekend with a 6-3 victory from the No. 2 spot in a neutral-site meeting against Wichita State on February 14. They followed it up by holding match point up 40-15 in the 5-2 game against host Boise State, but the match was abandoned and left the result unfinished. The win against Wichita State was their second on the season.
This is Mishiro's second Summit League weekly award in his career but his first in doubles. This is Rovai's first career weekly Summit League honor.
Mishiro and Rovai become the fifth and sixth Denver men's players to earn weekly Summit League recognition so far this year, meaning all six Pioneers to have seen playing time in 2026 have won at least won Summit League nod. Mishiro/Rovai are the third different DU doubles pairing to earn recognition as well.
Denver remains on the road for another week, traveling to Northwestern to first play a neutral-site match against DePaul on Saturday, February 21, before closing the weekend at host NU on Sunday, February 22.
