BARS RECAP
DU captured four scores in the 9.800 range to start the meet on bars, beginning with its first routine of the night from freshman
Kaitlynd Kastl, who stuck her dismount for a 9.800. Senior
Mila Brusch and freshman
Shyla Bhatia added their own 9.800s later in the rotation, setting up senior
Cecilia Cooley for a 9.825 in the penultimate routine. Senior
Kiley Rorich anchored the rotation with a 9.775 for the final counted score.
VAULT RECAP
Hewitt's near-stuck Yurchenko full in the anchor slot was the team highlight on vault. The sophomore had only competed in the full lineup once previously in her career and delivered a 9.850 – three tenths higher than her debut vault. Bhatia and fellow freshman
Sevana Kasparian shared the team's highest score with matching 9.775s. Cooley and junior
Amanda Hargraves had the fourth and fifth counted scores with a 9.700 and 9.675, receptively.
FLOOR RECAP
Denver's strongest rotation of the night came on floor once again, counting only scores of 9.800 or higher for the sixth time through the first seven meets. Bhatia and Reidenbach filled the middle of the lineup with back-to-back 9.900s, the highest DU scores of the night on any event. Hargraves equaled her career high with a 9.875, and Cooley delivered a 9.850. In the lead-off spot, junior
Ashley Gallen had a 9.825 for another counted score above 9.800. Hewitt narrowly stepped out of bounds, earning a 9.775 following the one-tenth neutral deduction in the No. 6 spot.
BEAM RECAP
For the second meet in a row, DU rallied after a fall in the second beam routine to not count the mistake. Highlighting the rotation were hit sets from Cooley and Reidenbach in the Nos. 4 and 5 spots, each registering a 9.875. Gallen started things off with a 9.725, and freshman
Megan Aamold earned a 9.700 – despite missing a connection and starting from a 9.900 – in the anchor spot to ensure DU would not count the fall. Hargraves returned to the lineup for the first time since the second meet of the year and had what would be in the final counted score a 9.625 in the routine immediately following the fall.
EXHIBITION NOTES
DU opted to only compete with two exhibitions in the meet. For the third meet in a row, Kasparian did so on bars and registered a 9.675. Kastl went for the second consecutive week on beam, earning a 9.800.
