DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team (6-4, 0-0 Summit) improved by 12 spots in the ITA Computerized Rankings, now up to No. 49 in the rankings released on Tuesday.
Denver played three matches last week as part of the Red Blue Invite on February 20-21, highlighted by a 4-3 come-from-behind win against host and then-No. 40 Arizona to start the tournament.
It was DU's first win of the season over a team that was nationally ranked at the time of the match, though Denver also has a win over Colorado, which is now ranked No. 74.
Of DU's four rankings in 2026, three have come against top-40 teams in No. 6 Arizona State, No. 29 BYU and No. 35 Utah.
DU has now appeared in consecutive ITA rankings after making its 2026 debut at No. 61 on February 19.
The ITA Division I Women's Collegiate Tennis Rankings recognize the top 75 teams (out of 313), as well as the top 125 singles players and top 60 doubles teams at the NCAA Division I level. Team rankings are issued weekly while singles and doubles rankings are issued bi-weekly through March before also being issued weekly in April.
The University of Denver women's tennis team wraps up a seven-match road trip when it opens Summit League play at St. Thomas on February 28 before playing at Minnesota on March 1.
