Denver Women’s Tennis Rejoins ITA Rankings at No. 52

DU returns to national rankings following 6-1 win over South Dakota

DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team (8-5, 2-0 Summit) re-entered the ITA Computerized Rankings, coming in at No. 52 in the rankings released on Tuesday.

Denver held its Summit League home opener on March 5 and posted a 6-1 win – dropping its only point of the day in a 10-point tiebreak in the final singles match to wrap up. Since the team last held an ITA ranking the week of February 23, Denver has also earned a win over St. Thomas before fall at Minnesota, 5-2.

So far in 2026, Denver has faced seven teams that currently appear in the ITA team rankings, highlighted by wins over No. 34 Arizona and No. 51 Colorado. All five of DU' losses this season have come against ranked teams: No. 13 Arizona State, No. 42 Utah, No. 45 BYU, No. 64 Minnesota and No. 67 Oregon.

This is the third time Denver has appeared in the ITA team rankings this season and is its second highest ranking so far, behind only February 24's No. 49.

The ITA Division I Women's Collegiate Tennis Rankings recognize the top 75 teams (out of 313), as well as the top 125 singles players and top 60 doubles teams at the NCAA Division I level. Team rankings are issued weekly while singles and doubles rankings are issued bi-weekly through March before also being issued weekly in April.

The University of Denver women's tennis team hosts Davidson on Friday, March 13, at 2 p.m. MT for its final home match before spending a month on the road.
