DENVER – The No. 71-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team (10-5, 0-0 Summit) begins its Summit League slate when it hosts Illinois State and Oral Roberts at Denver Tennis Park on April 3-4.

DU will first welcome Illinois State on Friday, April 3, at 10 a.m. MT before ending the weekend against Oral Roberts on Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m. MT. Admission and parking at Denver Tennis Park are free for all matches.

Last Time Out:
Denver ended a six-match road trip with two wins, starting with a back-and-forth battle at Cal Poly on March 23 that saw DU come out on top, 4-3. The Pioneers went up 2-0 after doubles and with a straight-sets win from graduate student Connor Robb-Wilcox before Cal Poly rallied for a 3-2 lead. Sophomore Theo Coats fought back from a set down to level the scoreboard at 3-3 before senior Raffaello Papajcik clinched the win in his own three-set victory.

Two days later, Denver eased into its second sweep of the season, going 7-0 at Gonzaga on March 25. DU won the doubles point for a fifth straight match and got within a point of the clinch off straight-sets wins from sophomore Samuel Rovai and Robb-Wilcox. Coats earned the clinching point – again after dropping the first set – with the first of four three-set singles wins for the Pioneers on the day.

Following the weekend's matches, the doubles team of Mishiro and Rovai was named the Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week, their second such award of the year so far.
