No. 71 DU Men’s Tennis Closes Regular Season at Drake, Omaha

Denver heads on the road for program’s final two Summit League regular-season duals

DENVER – The No. 71-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team (14-5, 3-0 Summit) will finish its regular season with two road duals at Drake and at Omaha on April 17 and 19, respectively.

Denver first makes the trip to Drake on Friday, April 17, at 4:30 p.m. CT/3:30 p.m. MT before visiting Omaha for the regular-season finale on Sunday, April 19, at 3:30 p.m. CT/2:30 p.m. MT.

Friday's and Sunday's matches will be DU's final regular-season conference duals as a member of the Summit League. Denver enters the week atop the Summit League men's tennis standings with a 3-0 record and can win the League's regular-season title for a seventh consecutive season with wins in both contests or a win in at least one combined with an Omaha loss in at least one of the Mavericks' final two matches.

Last Time Out:
Denver finished off its home slate with two wins on April 11-12. DU first posted a 7-0 sweep of North Dakota on April 11, winning the doubles point for an eighth consecutive dual before easing through singles with five straight-sets wins and one victory in a 10-point match tiebreak.

A day later, DU celebrated Senior Day with a 4-1 win over Nevada is the team's non-conference finale. After Nevada clinched the doubles point off a tiebreak in the third and final match, DU responded with four quick singles points to secure the overall win.

For the second time in the last three weeks, senior Ryoma Mishiro and sophomore Samuel Rovai were recognized as the Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week after winning both of their matches, first 6-2 against UND to clinch the doubles point and then adding a 7-6(4) win against Nevada.

Series History:
Drake: Denver and Drake have played 26 times previously with the Pioneers owning a 16-10 record so far, winning the last three duals including the teams' meeting in the 2025 regular season in Denver, 7-0. The Pioneers last made the trip to Drake twice in 2024, first in the regular season (a 5-2 win) and then for the Summit League Championship where Denver won the title over host Drake, 4-0.

Omaha: DU is 15-0 against Omaha including back-to-back 6-1 wins in its regular-season meetings over the last two seasons. Denver hosted UNO on April 4, 2026, for their most recent meeting, and DU's last trip to Omaha was on April 7, 2024.

Up Next:
The University of Denver men's tennis team will await the conclusion of this week's Summit League matches to determine its eligibility for the 2026 Summit League Men's Tennis Championship, which is set for April 24-25 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The top four teams based on record against league opponents in the regular season will be selected for the tournament.

DU has won back-to-back Summit League tournament titles and has been the No. 1 seed for the championship in each of the last six seasons.
