DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team (16-5, 5-0 Summit) is ranked No. 71 in the in the ITA Computerized Rankings that were released on Tuesday.
Denver holds the No. 71 spot for the second week in a row and the third time in the last four weeks. The Pioneers finished off the 2026 regular season with a 6-1 win at Drake and 7-0 sweep at Omaha on April 17 and 19, respectively. DU, which won its seventh consecutive Summit League regular-season title with the win at Drake, has now won eight matches in a row and 11 of its last 12.
During the regular season, DU faced off against six teams that join it in the current national rankings including No. 72 Cal Poly, which Denver earned a 4-3 road win against. Four of Denver's five losses came against teams now in the national rankings: No. 40 Penn, No. 62 Boise State, No. 69 Northwestern and No. 70 Wichita State.
This is Denver's sixth week in the ITA team rankings in 2026 and its fourth in as many weeks.
The ITA Division I Men's Collegiate Tennis Rankings recognize the top 75 teams (out of 243), as well as the top 125 singles players and top 60 doubles teams at the NCAA Division I level. Beginning this week, rankings for teams, singles players and doubles teams will all be released weekly until the start of the NCAA tournament in May.
The University of Denver men's tennis team is the No. 1 seed for the 2026 Summit League Men's Tennis Championship and will play No. 4-seeded Illinois State in the semifinals on Friday, April 24, at 3 p.m. CT/2 p.m. MT.
