No. 71 Denver Men’s Tennis Set for NCAA Regionals at TCU

DU to take on No. 6-seeded TCU in NCAA First Round on Friday, May 1

DENVER – The No. 71-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team (18-5, 5-0 Summit) will begin NCAA Regionals by playing at host and No. 6 national seed TCU in the NCAA First Round on Friday, May 1, at 5 p.m. CT/4 p.m. MT.

TCU, which is ranked No. 2 nationally as of April 21, will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship. Joining Denver and TCU in the regional are No. 29-ranked Cornell and No. 38-ranked Arkansas.

NCAA REGIONALS SCHEDULE:
First Round: Cornell vs. Arkansas – Friday, May 1, at 2 p.m. CT/1 p.m. MT
First Round: Denver vs. TCU – Friday, May 1, at 5 p.m. CT/4 p.m. MT
Second Round: Winners of each first-round match – Saturday, May 2, at 4 p.m. CT/3 p.m. MT

LAST TIME OUT:
Denver secured its third consecutive Summit League title and its eighth overall with a 4-0 sweep of North Dakota in the championship match on April 25. In what was DU's final appearance as a member of the Summit League – with Denver set to join the West Coast Conference on July 1, 2026 – the Pioneers won their fourth conference title in the last six seasons.

In DU's Summit League history, the program went 61-1 in league regular-season matches and 19-4 in the conference tournament.

DENVER'S NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY:
This will be Denver's third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division I tournament and its 11th overall. Last season, DU was also selected to an NCAA Regional site hosted by a top-10 seed when it traveled to No. 10 Arizona and fell to the host team, 0-4.

DU's best result at the NCAA tournament is a second-round appearance in 2013 after Denver upset Florida, 4-3, in the first round. The Pioneers rallied from a 1-3 deficit in that match on the way to the victory.

Three more times, Denver narrowly missed a spot in the NCAA second round, falling by the tightest of margins at 3-4, most recently doing so in 2016 when it faced Ole Miss in the first round.

DENVER'S HISTORY AGAINST THE FIELD:
TCU: This will be just the third meeting between Denver and TCU with the Horned Frogs winning both previous matches, each coming in Fort Worth. Their last meeting was January 23, 2021, as part of the ITA Kickoff Weekend where TCU finished with a 5-0 win.

Cornell: Denver and Cornell have met just one previously, a January 24, 2015, match that saw DU come away with a 4-1 win. That match was held at a neutral site hosted by Dartmouth.

Arkansas: Should Denver and Arkansas advance to Saturday's second round, it would be the first meeting between the two teams.
