Gabe Oldham Will Return to Denver for 2026-27 Senior Campaign

The Pioneer big man started 27 of Denver’s 32 games last year, averaging 5.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game

DENVER – University of Denver men's basketball rising senior forward Gabe Oldham has announced that he will return for his senior season at Denver in 2026-27 to play for second-year head coach Tim Bergstraser.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to run it back in Denver," Oldham said. "It means a lot to play for this coaching staff and in-front of our awesome fans again. Going into my senior year, I'm excited for what this team can accomplish as we head into the West Coast Conference."

Oldham played in all 32 games for the Pioneers in 2025-26, making 27 starts and averaging 25.6 minutes per game. The Denver big man averaged 5.6 points and pulled down 7.4 rebounds per contest. Oldham finished second in the Summit League in rebounds in conference games with 8.2 boards per game. The Spanish Fork, Utah, native pulled down 238 total rebounds, ranking sixth in Denver's modern DI era in single-season boards.

Following two seasons at Pima Community College, Oldham ended his first Division I regular season ranking fourth in the country in effective field goal percentage at 70.4% (Ken Pom). Oldham recorded four double-doubles in the campaign, including a 20-point double-double on a perfect 9-for-9 day from the field on January 10 at South Dakota. The rising senior pulled down double digit boards 10 times, including a career-high 19 rebounds at Kansas City on January 28.

Oldham joins guards Carson Johnson (READ JOHNSON'S RELEASE) and Shaun Wysocki (READ WYSOCKI'S RELEASE) as the Pioneers that have announced they are returning to the roster next season. Rising junior forward Loch Cunningham will also return to the Denver roster in 2026-27.

Denver men's basketball, along with eight other Pioneer athletic programs, will join the West Coast Conference next season. Secure season tickets for Denver's first season in the WCC today by clicking here.
