DENVER – The No. 73-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team (12-5, 2-0 Summit) will host its final two home matches of the season when it welcomes North Dakota and Nevada to Denver Tennis Park on April 11-12
DU reaches the midway point of its Summit League schedule when it plays against North Dakota as part of a doubleheader with the Denver women's team on Saturday, April 11, at approximately 3 p.m. MT. The Pioneers will then celebrate Senior Day in their final home dual and non-conference match of the season against Nevada on Sunday, April 12, at 11 a.m. MT.
Admission and parking at Denver Tennis Park are free for all matches.
Last Time Out:
Denver collected wins in its first two Summit League matches of the year, beginning with a 6-1 win against Illinois State at home on April 3. After winning the doubles point for a sixth straight match, DU won four singles matches in straight sets and added a win in a 10-point tiebreak to finish the day off at No. 3 singles.
The next day, DU posted its third 7-0 sweep of the season with a win against Oral Roberts. All three doubles matches went to the Pioneers by identical scores of 6-2 before the singles lineup all added straight-sets wins.
Graduate student
Connor Robb-Wilcox was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week and swept the week's league awards after being named to the Doubles Peak Team of the Week with sophomore
Theo Coats as well.
Robb-Wilcox dropped just seven total games in singles play across both duals, including having the clinching point in Denver's sweep of ORU. In doubles, Coats/Robb-Wilcox won both of their matches on the weekend at 6-2, each at the No. 1 spot.
Series History:
North Dakota: This will be the 10
th meeting between Denver and North Dakota with DU earning wins in each of the nine previous meetings. The teams meet twice in six days last year, ending with a 4-0 victory for Denver in the Summit League final at DTP. The week before, DU traveled to UND for the teams' regular-season dual and came away with a 5-0 win. This will be North Dakota's first trip to Denver during the regular season since March 31, 2024, which ended in a 7-0 sweep for DU.
Nevada: DU enters what will be its fifth meeting against Nevada with a 4-0 record against the Wolf Pack. The teams last met on March 26, 2024, in a 6-1 win for Denver also at home. This will be the third meeting between Denver and Nevada in the last five seasons.
