Ripple, Gwaku Named USA Lacrosse All-Americans

SPARKS, Md. -- University of Denver junior attacker Olivia Ripple and sophomore goalkeeper Lexi Gwaku were named USA Lacrosse All-Americans, the organization announced on Thursday. 

Ripple was named to the third team for her performances this season. She earned Big East Attacker of the Year honors after leading the Pioneers with 72 points on 59 goals and 13 assists through the regular season. The California native led the Pioneers with six goals in the semifinal victory over Marquette and was named the Big East All-Tournament team. Ripple ranks ninth in the nation with 3.67 goals per game and her 66 goals are third most in a single season in program history. 

Gwaku earned honorable mention nod from USA Lacrosse, the first of her career. The sophomore earned Big East Goalkeeper of the Year honors and ranks sencond in the nation with a 0.524 save percentage and third with 6.94 goals against average. The New Jersey native posted back-to-back career-best performances with 10 saves in the Big East Tournament semifinal win over Marquette and 13 in the championship win over Georgetown and was named Big East Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

Ripple, Gwaku and the Pioneers take on Florida in the openng round of the NCAA Tournament on May 8 at Prentup Field in Boulder, Colorado.
