Denver Hires Trevor Sisson as Head Diving Coach

The Pioneers new head diving coach will enter his sixth season as a DI diving coach after stints at Bryant, Georgia Southern, Toledo and Penn State

DENVER - The University of Denver athletic department has hired Trevor Sisson as its diving head coach, DU head swimming and diving coach Alicia Hicken-Franklin announced on Friday.

Sisson is coming to Denver after a season at Penn State, a season at Toledo, two seasons at Georgia Southern and a season at Bryant.

"Trevor brings many years of collegiate success to our Denver program," Hicken-Franklin said. "As a collegiate diver and coach, he has received numerous awards for guiding his student-athletes to achieve great things. Trevor shares the same values that guide our program and will fit in well with our team at Denver. I look forward to him getting started with our divers."

In his season at Penn State, Sisson produced one NCAA Championship qualifier in Grace Brammer and eight NCAA Zone Qualifiers. While at Bryant, Sisson was named the NEC Men's Diving Coach of the Year following his team's performance at the NEC Championship.

"I could not be more excited to join the Pioneer family," Sisson said. "I've always felt most at home in the mountains, so even though I'm not from Colorado, this opportunity feels like coming home. Meeting Alicia and the rest of the coaching staff and the team only further cemented this is the right place for me. Combined with the opportunity to continue building something truly special, it made this an easy decision. I'm incredibly grateful to be able to represent the Crimson and Gold and can't wait to get to work!"

In his season at Bryant, Sisson coached men's diver Benjamin Prouty to the NEC titles on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. On the women's side in his 2021-22 campaign at Bryant, Sisson coached 3-meter NEC Champion and NEC Diver of the Year Kyri Chambo.

Sisson spent two seasons at Georgia Southern after his season at Bryant, coaching three-time NCAA Zone Qualifier and school record holder in the 3-meter, Karlee Wells. Wells reached the finals at the conference championships in every event under Sisson.
