DENVER – The University of Denver women's lacrosse program has signed The Mount transfer defender
Mackey Fick to its 2027 roster, head coach
Liza Kelly announced on Thursday.
Fick is a three-year starter at the Mount, making 52 appearances in the last three seasons and picking up 85 ground balls and forcing 50 turnovers in those contests. Last season, Fick posted a career-high 21 caused turnovers, including four thefts at Duquesne and Delaware.
Prior to the start of her college career, Fick was a three-sport athlete at Maryvale Prep, captaining her lacrosse team in her senior year.
Fick joins Boston College transfer Chrystina Bennett and a seven-member freshman class as newcomers for the 2027 campaign.

2026 (Junior – at The Mount): Played and started 17 games, picking up 20 ground balls and forcing 21 turnovers…Grabbed two draw controls…Finished with four caused turnovers twice against Duquesne (2/14) and Delaware (3/14)...Tallied three ground balls against Fairfield (4/8).
2025 (Sophomore – at The Mount): Started all 17 games for the season...Finished with 25 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers, and a pair of draw controls ... Collected seven ground balls in a 14-9 win over Marist on April 12...Forced three turnovers in the win over Siena on March 29...Completed six games with multiple ground balls collected and three games with multiple caused turnovers initiated.
2024 (Freshman – at the Mount): Played and started all 18 games…Made impact on the Mount's defensive unit, leading the group in both ground balls (40) and caused turnover (18), good for second best among Mountaineers for those categories...Also tallied three draw controls over the course of the season...Season high for ground balls was five, occurring in the MAAC semifinal game vs. Fairfield on May 3...Caused turnover high was four in a win over Canisius on April 3.
PRIOR TO THE MOUNT: Three-sport athlete at Maryvale Prep, playing four seasons of varsity lacrosse as well as cross country and basketball ... Team captain for lacrosse in 2022 and unsung hero for both lacrosse and basketball that same year .. Member of the National Honor Society as a junior and senior.
PERSONAL: Chose Denver because of its great combination of academics and athletics in an amazing community...Parents both played lacrosse at Mount St. Mary's, with dad Patrick a 2009 Hall of Fame inductee ... Also had an aunt and uncle compete for the Mount's lacrosse teams.
