Why DU: "DU offers so many possibilities both in the classroom as well as in athletics, music, extracurriculars and location. From an academic standpoint, I have a passion for environmental science and am super interested in studying environmental policy. The environmental science program and geography department at DU is outstanding and could provide me with an interdisciplinary approach to public policy through seminars, courses and even field work. Skiing is such a huge part of my life and being able to ski on a D-I team collegiately is such an honor. I chose DU for the amazing ski team, led by Rogan Brown, which provided me the opportunity to race competitively and train alongside Europeans and other high-level athletes. I instantly felt a connection and a sense that this is the team environment I want to be a part of. The girls were open, welcoming, funny and so eager to share their own experiences. Rogan Brown is so amazing, and his program is so welcoming, supportive, yet built around team collaboration in what is traditionally an individual sport. In addition to the athletics, the University of Denver offers a unique music program through the Lamont School of Music. I am able to study viola under Professor Basil Vendryes, who is the principal violist of the Colorado Symphony. The program, racing, facilities and outdoor spaces all gave me the impression that DU would be a really good fit for me."

Career Goals: "In the future, I hope to have a career working in environmental science. I see myself working either for or creating a non-profit environmental action organization dedicated to sustainability. Perhaps, I will work to become a legislator or lobbyist, or maybe even a field in research and analysis. I will continue to be an athlete and continue to adventure in the outdoors. I will hopefully be able to travel to other countries and immerse myself in their language, culture and ways of life."
