Brett Meyer

Brett Meyer enters his fourth season with the program in 2026-27.

The Pioneers earned a runner-up finish in Meyer’s third season with the program and posted the lowest scoring average in the Summit League at 288.0. The Pioneers placed three on All-Conference teams in Jet Hernandez, Zander Grant and Jack Dozer. Under Meyers’s leadership, Jet Hernandez was named Summit League Golfer of the Year, the first Pioneer golfer to earn the award since 2022.

During his second season, Meyer led the Pioneers to a fifth-place finish in the Summit League and placed Willis Panzarello on the Summit League All-Tournament Team. Juniors Willis Panzarello and Jack Dozer earned All-Conference recognition with Meyer’s leadership

In his first season, the Pioneers finished seventh in the Summit League and sophomore Jack Dozer earned All-Conference honors.

"Brett is a tremendous addition to our program," said Head Coach Gary Bissell. "His extensive teaching experience will make him one of the top coaches in the country in terms of player development right away. As impressive as Brett's resume is, we hire people not only paper and Brett is not only one of the best in the business at his job he is more importantly a great human being that will develop these young men as golfer's and people." 
 
Meyer comes from a vast golf coaching background including 14 years at The Leadbetter Golf Academy World HQ (Orlando, FL) where he was a Senior Instructor and Master Club Fitter. While in Orlando, Meyer was also the full-time instruction assistant to world-renowned coach David Leadbetter from 2013-2021 which included professional tour coaching, VIP events and corporate clinics. Other mentors to his coaching career include Sean Hogan, PGA Tour winner Bob Lohr and PGA Tour Caddie Shaun McBride. 

Meyer spent 2020-2023 as a seasonal lead golf instructor at Bishops Bay Country Club near Madison, Wisconsin and split that time with PGA Tour and LPGA Tour coaching duties mainly for Rafa Cabrera Bello of Spain and Maria Fassi of Mexico.  

The Mendota, Illinois native has been on the Golf Digest Best Young Teachers list since 2016, in recognition of outstanding achievement among golf instructors under age 40. He has been selected as a Callaway Golf Top Club Fitter and has been Trackman Master Certified since 2013. Brett continues his golf education as a member of the PGA and has recently competed in Wisconsin and Iowa State Open Championships.   

Brett attended Central College (Pella, Iowa) where he was team captain, selected to the Ping All-Midwest Region team, earned multiple All-Iowa Conference honors and played in two NCAA National Championships. 

Along with strengthening the University of Denver Men’s squad, Meyer enjoys helping golfers of all ages and abilities, and you can find him coaching at The University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch.
