Zoë Parker Smith enters her third season as DU's director of women's lacrosse operations in 2015.

In Smith's first season with Denver, the Pioneers made their first NCAA Tournament, where they beat Jacksonville to advance to the Round of 16. Denver finished the 2013 season with an 18-3 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. DU was ranked No. 16 in the final IWLCA Coaches Poll. The Crimson and Gold ranked second in the nation in caused turnovers (11.76), fourth in win percentage (.857), fifth in points (433.0) and ninth in scoring offense (13.9). Denver broke a team record, set a season before, by winning 15-straight games.

The Baltimore, Md., native joins the Pioneers after serving as head coach from 2007-10 at Kent Denver School, where she also was assistant coach from 2001-07. Prior to Kent Denver, Smith was head coach at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., from 1998-01.

Smith played four years at North Carolina, leading the Tar Heels to the NCAA Semifinals as a junior and senior. Smith, who was selected as team captain her senior year, won the Class of 1996 Leadership Award and earned a spot on the ACC Honor Roll during each of her final three years. Smith graduated from UNC with a degree in English in 1998.

In addition to her duties at DU, Smith is head coach for 2017 Black Team on Denver Summit, and she has coached and directed at several camps around the country.

Smith and her husband, Arty, live in Denver with their children Finn and Parker.
