The way we can do that is by playing good teams on the road, so this was a positive weekend."

Denver suffered its first loss of the season in its first match on the road. The Pioneers, 4-0 when playing on their home court (all "home" matches have been played at the Air Force Academy), gained their only win in singles action as Tomasz Wawrzyniak defeated F. Timperley of Tulsa. That was the sole bright spot for the team.
Denver coach Rob Oertel says: "We had three matches that were lost in the third set so it certainly could have been closer. We have to play big points better if we expect to be successful. That was the difference for us (Saturday)."
