LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Mar. 3) - University of Denver sophomore forward Wahhab Carter was one of 10 players named to the Sun Belt Conference's all-tournament team Friday at the Double Tree Hotel. The selection carries significance because Carter is the first player ever from Denver to be an all-Sun Belt Conference selection.
Carter finished the regular season as the conference's second-best scorer and rebounder averaging 17.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. He is one of two players in the conference to rank in the top five for both scoring and rebounding joining Arkansas-Little Rock forward Stan Blackmon.
"This was a tough team to make," said Denver coach Marty Fletcher. "Six of the players came from the top three teams in the conference. Wahhab deserved this award and has had a very fine season." The other honorees are listed below.
