BERKELEY, CALIF. - The University of Denver men's soccer team dropped its second straight game Sunday afternoon, falling to California, 1-0 in the last game of the adidas / Cal Legacy Classic. The loss drops the Pioneers' record on the season to 3-3-0. The Bears improve to 3-2-1.
The Pioneers managed eight shots on Bears goalkeeper Josh Saunders, six of which he kept out of the net. California blistered Denver keeper Lami Harmon (Newark, Del.) with 13 shots, including nine in the second half as the Bears outshot Denver 13-8 on the afternoon.
After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, California got on the board when senior Patrick Fisher took a crossed corner kick from sophomore Calen Carr and beat Harmon from eight yards that gave the Bears a 1-0 lead.
