COLORADO SPRINGS - The University of Denver swimming and diving teams were swept in a dual meet Friday at Air Force, with the women dropping a 173-115 decision and the men falling 158-121.
The Pioneers got a big night from freshman Craig Jollands (Hillcrest, South Africa) who won the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke and a strong performance from sophomore Chris Siebert (El Paso, Texas) who won the men's 200-IM. Denver's "B" team of James Monaghan, Michael Peterson, William Price, and Alex McNally captured the 200-freestyle relay.
The women's team got two wins each from freshman Harmony Zeller (Arvada, Colo.) and freshman Katie Conyers (Lakewood, Colo.). Zeller won both the 1650-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle and Conyers captured 200-yard breastroke and the 100-yard breastroke. Junior Katie Eisenhard (Brownsboro, Ala.) also won the 100-yard backstroke for Denver.
The Pioneers are next in action next Saturday, Nov. 15 when they take on Wyoming at El Pomar Natatorium at noon.
