Seven University of Denver men's basketball players, including three starters and all three co-captains, played at Colorado high schools. All seven play regularly for third-year coach Terry Carroll, hoping to build a greater foundation for the only Division I program in Denver.
That foundation got a little more solid Saturday after DU's 84-67 blowout of Colorado State, an NCAA Tournament team last season, at Magness Arena. The rout could prove priceless for wooing in-state recruits.
