COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Denver women's lacrosse team travels back to the east coast for two matches this week. Denver will face-off against No. 8 Maryland on Fri., April 2, at 2 p.m. MT and Bucknell on Sat., April 3, at 5 p.m. MT.

First-year head coach Cathy Nelson Reese spent the previous five seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Maryland. During her tenure at Maryland, she helped lead the Terrapins to three NCAA National Championships, one final four and a final eight appearance.
Denver comes off a 16-5 loss vs. Mountain Pacific Sports Federation frontrunner Stanford last Sunday (March 28). The Pioneers are 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the MPSF. Senior midfielder Patience Baldwin (Baltimore, Md.) leads the team in points (24), goals (21), assists (3) and shots (58). Sophomore midfielder Steph Greenlees (Lake Forest, Ill.) is second on the squad in points (19), goals (18) and shots (44). Junior attacker Tara Bourdelaise (Gambrillis, Md.) is third on the team in points (11), goals (10) and shots (30). Junior defenseman Crystal Jack (Kingwood, Texas) is tied for first on the squad in assists (3) and is second in caused turnovers (9) and fourth in points (9), shots (25) and draw controls (10). Junior goalkeeper Steph Schneider (Leesburg, Va.) has a goals against average of 13.00 to go along with her .488 saves percentage.
Maryland is 8-2 overall and 0-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Winners of six straight, the Terrapins are led by this week's ACC Player of the Week, Kelly Coppedge. The senior has recorded 50 points on 36 goals and 14 assists. Kirah Miles has started all 10 games in the cage, recording a GAA of 7.63.
This will be the first meeting between Denver and Maryland.
The Bison lost at Harvard, 18-8, on March 28, falling to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the Patriot League. Meredith Wright and Katie Edge lead Bucknell in points (25). Lizzy McDaniel has started all eight matches in goal, registering a 9.58 GAA.
Denver and Bucknell are meeting for the second time, with the Pioneers leading the all-time series 1-0. Denver defeated Bucknell 11-8 last season (March 11, 2003) in Denver.
