DENVER – Head women's lacrosse coach
Liza Kelly has named four captains –
Carly Frohnapfel,
Landry Grover,
Megan Klingenberg and
Olivia Ripple, to lead the 2026 University of Denver women's lacrosse program.
Frohnapfel and Klingenberg played and started all 20 games for Denver's hot pink defense a year ago. Frohnapfel recorded 18 ground balls, 19 caused turnovers and 14 wins in the draw circle while Klingenberg added 44 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers.
Grover also spent the 2025 season on Denver's top defensive unit, causing 21 turnovers while picking up 37 ground balls.
An All-Big East First Team selection and the Big East Tournament most outstanding player a year ago, Ripple led the Pioneers with 63 goals and 13 assists.
The Pioneers are coming off their seventh-straight NCAA tournament appearance and fifth consecutive Big East Championship, part of a 14-6 season for Denver.
DU returns four of their top six point getters from a year ago, led by junior Ripple, alongside sophomores
Eva Thomsen-Marr who finished her freshman campaign with 33 goals and 24 assists.
Caroline Bowers had 22 goals and a trio of helpers while
Caroline Keil added 20 goals of her own.
The hot pink defense returns All-Big East Selection in Klingenberg as well as starters Frohnapfel, Grover and
Megan Morneau.
