DENVER - Scott Muir of Air Force scored two goals as the Falcons defeated the University of Denver men's soccer team today, 3-0, at Pioneer Field in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action. The loss drops DU's record to 5-5-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the MPSF. Air Force improves to 4-6-1, 2-0-1.

The match remained scoreless until Reid Gaiser scored the only goal the Falcons would need in the 40th minute. Gaiser converted an Air Force corner kick from 15 yards out. Muir scored both of his goals late in the match as the Falcons held on for victory.

The Pioneers tallied nine shots but could not solve Air Force goalkeeper Brian Guyette, who recorded two saves. Pioneer keeper Matt Bredehoft (Fort Collins, Colo.) also notched two saves.

Senior back Liam Girard (Victoria B. C.) led Denver with three shots.

DU returns to action next weekend when the Pioneers travel to California for MPSF matchups against Sacramento State (Fri., Oct. 21, 5 p.m. MT) and San Jose State (Sun., Oct. 23, 2 p.m. MT).
