Jackson Earns MPSF Player of the Week Honors

WOODLAND, Calif. - The University of Denver freshman midfielder Luke Jackson (Aurora, Colo.) and Sacramento State junior forward Oscar Sandoval were selected to share this week's Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week honors for their offensive leadership in helping their respective teams to victories it was announced today by the league office.

Jackson scored two goals, including the game winner, off three shots in the Pioneers' 3-2 win at Western Kentucky There were Jackson's first career goals for DU.

Sandoval posted a goal and the assist that set up the game-winning score in the Hornets 2-0 shutout of UC Davis.

The Pioneers open MPSF play at home this weekend. DU will play host to UNLV on Friday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. The week concludes on Sunday, Oct. 9 with Denver hosting No. 1 New Mexico at 11 a.m. Both games are at Pioneer Field.
