DENVER - Senior guard DaShawn Walker (Chicago) scored 22 points and pulled down a team-high six boards on Thursday night at Magness Arena, but Arkansas-Little Rock beat the Pioneers, 74-68.
Senior forward Antonio Porch (Denver) pulled down his third rebound early in the second half, giving him No. 500 in his career, and he added nine points, which leaves him just six short of 1,000 in his career.
The Pioneers (4-20, 3-11 SBC) led by a point at halftime, but the Trojans went on a 21-8 run during the first nine minutes after the break and held DU to only one field goal during that stretch.
Although the team entered the game first in the Sun Belt Conference with a 74.0 percent free throw percentage, DU hit just 13-of-22 (59.1 percent) from the line against UALR (11-14, 6-8 SBC).
Freshman guard Tyler Bullock (Lincoln, Neb.) scored 13 points, while senior guard Alex Cox (Brisbane, Australia) had six points, five assists and three steals in the contest.
Trojans forward Rashad Jones-Jennings, who is leading the NCAA in rebounding, registered his 15th double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 boards. De'Andre Eggins (19), Lekheythan Malone (16) and Terrance Akins (12) also scored in double digits for the visitors.
Denver led by eight with six minutes remaining in the first half, but UALR ripped off a 7-0 run to bring the game within a point. The teams traded buckets, and DU led 35-34 heading into the locker rooms.
