DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball program has signed former Temple and Cal forward Spencer Mahoney for the 2026-27 season, head coach Tim Bergstraser announced on Tuesday.

Mahoney has made 40 appearances at the Division I level, starting with his first 27 at Cal. After transferring from Cal across the country to Temple, Mahoney made 13 appearances last season, averaging 5.0 minutes per contest. Mahoney was ranked as a four-star recruit by ESPN, and a top-50 rated power forward by 247Sports.

This marks Bergstraser's ninth offseason signing, joining Oskar Wickström Stümer (April 17), Trey Cady (April 27), Baba Mbengue (May 7), CJ Hyland (May 8), Harry Bates (May 9), Kam Martin (May 9), Jordan Rogers (May 11) and Charlie Dimmock (May 11).

2025-26 (REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE AT TEMPLE):
Made 13 appearances, averaging 5.0 minutes per appearance.

2024-25 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN AT CAL):
Played in 27 games off the bench for the Golden Bears, averaging 6.3 minutes, 1.5 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.

2023-24 (FRESHMAN AT WASHINGTON STATE):
Redshirted

BEFORE WASHINGTON STATE:
Averaged 18 points and 6 rebounds per game at Red Rock Academy (Las Vegas)…Three-star prospect and top-50 rated power forward by 247Sports…Ranked as a four star recruit by ESPN.
