University of Denver freshman forward Joe Colborne (Calgary, Alberta) was named to the 2008-09 Inside College Hockey Preseason All-Rookie Team.

Colborne was joined on the all-rookie team by Ohio State's Zac Dalpe, Minnesota's Jordan Schroeder and Aaron Ness, Boston University's David Warsofsky and North Dakota's Brad Eidsness.

Colborne was named the Canadia Junior A Player of the Year last season after leading Camrose to the Alberta Junior Hockey League and Doyle Cup championships. He was drafted in the first round (16th overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
