Taryn Hemmings

Two-time Sun Belt Player of the Year Taryn Hemmings (Greeley, Colo.) led the University of Denver women's soccer team to its third consecutive Sun Belt Tournament crown over the weekend. Hemmings tallied two goals in the tournament, including the game-winner in DU's 2-0 victory over Western Kentucky in the championship game.

Hemmings was named to the All-SBC First Team and the SBC All-Tournament Team. She also was chosen as the Sun Belt Tournament's Most Outstanding Player after earning her second Sun Belt Player of the Year award this season. Hemmings also received the award as a junior in 2006.

The senior forward leads Denver in points (38), goals (16), assists (6), game-winning goals (8), shots (93) and shots on goal (52). She is one of three Pioneers to have started all 23 games this season. Hemmings is currently Denver's second all-time career scoring leader with 110 points (41 goals and 28 assists). She trails career leader Annette Wagner by six points.
