Denver Falls 1-0 at Missouri State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The University of Denver men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Missouri State of the Missouri Valley Conference on Thursday afternoon.

The contest remained scoreless through the first half, and in the 73rd minute Missouri State (5-2-1) scored the lone goal of the game. On a corner kick by Johannes Demarzi, Paul Paradise headed the ball to David Buckenheimer's right foot.

Denver (3-3-2) had five corner kicks to only one by the Bears, but Missouri State out-shot the Pioneers 13-6.

Senior goalkeeper Joe Willis (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded four saves in the game.

The Pioneers conclude their road swing at Tulsa on Saturday before returning to University of Denver Soccer Stadium to face UMKC under the lights on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
