LONG BEACH, Calif. - No. 42 Denver improved to 9-4 with a 6-1 win over No. 40 Long Beach State on Saturday, March 21 at Rhodes Tennis Center in Long Beach.
DU won its first match on the California road trip by taking the doubles point and dominating singles play with five wins.
Mallory Voelker (Dousman, Wis.), Annette Aksdal (Oslo, Norway), Julia Bauregger (Klagenfurt, Austria), Kyla Iwinski (Marietta, Ga.) and Bhavani Tirumurti (Jakarta, Indonesia) each tallied singles wins.
Ute Schnoy (Altenstadt, Germany) and Bauregger won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles, while Aksdal and Tirumurti won at No. 3 doubles.
DU returns to action today against UC Irvine.
