DU Men's Golf Finishes 12th at SBC Championships

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - The University of Denver men's golf team finished in 12th place at the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf Championships at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail's the Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Ala. The Pioneers carded an 11-over par 299 in the final round for a three-day total of 52-over par 916.

South Alabama won its first SBC Title since 2005, shooting an 8-over par 872 over the three rounds.

Senior Espen Kofstad (Oslo, Norway) finished in the top-10, using a 4-under par 68 in the final round to improve to tied for sixth with a three-round total of 1-over par 217. Sophomore Troy Anderson (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) carded a 3-over par 75 in the final round to bring his tournament total to 4-over par 220, slipping to 14th place overall.

Junior Klinton Krieger (Cheyenne, Wyo.) finished the tournament 22-over par 238 (76-80-82) to sit in a tie for 54th, while senior Jon Lopez (Aurora, Colo.) finished 30-over par 246 (84-84-78) to stay in 57th place.

Freshman Kevin Gillick (Lincoln, N.E.) rounded out the scoring for the Pioneers with a 32-over par 248 (87-83-78) through the three rounds to finish in 58th place.
