Box Score

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Junior midfielder Jarod Stigall (Plano, Texas) scored two goals, as the University of Denver men's soccer team played No. 16 Portland to a 3-3 tie after two overtimes in the TLC Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Invitational at the University of New Mexico on Saturday evening.

The Pioneers (1-1-1) had 10 shots, while the Pilots (1-0-2) had 14, and Portland led 8-4 in corner kicks.

The game remained scoreless through the first 57:27 until Portland's Connor Barbaree put the Pilots on the board.

Stigall responded just 21 seconds later, collected a rebound and scoring from inside the box.

After a Denver own goal, Stigall struck again, scoring from 40 yards out in the 69th minute.

Portland's Ben Henphill gave his team the lead again in the 82nd minute, but freshman midfielder Kegan Harkenrider (Fort Wayne, Ind.) once again responded for the Pioneers two minutes later, burying a pass from sophomore forward Alex Tarnoczi (Castle Rock, Colo.).

The Pioneers will face Georgetown in their second game of the tournament on Sunday at 11 a.m. MT.
