Pioneers Fall to Lady Toppers 3-0

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The University of Denver volleyball team fell to the SBC East Division leading Western Kentucky Lady Toppers 3-0 (12-25, 16-25, 13-25) Friday night at E.A. Diddle Arena. The loss was DU's first sweep by a conference opponent this season.

Junior Faimie Kingsley (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Pioneers (10-14, 7-5 SBC) with eight kills and five blocks, while redshirt freshman Cassie Ronda (Chandler, Ariz.) chipped in six kills. Senior Alyssa Bonelli (Superior, Colo.) also provided five kills for Denver and led the team with a .308 hitting percentage.

Jordyn Skinner led the way for the Lady Toppers with 14 kills, while Tiffany Elmore contributed nine kills and recorded a .667 hitting percentage.

Next up, the Pioneers make a quick turnaround as they travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn., to take on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Saturday at 6 p.m. MT.
