No. 32 Huskers Beat Pioneers, 5-2

DENVER - The University of Denver men's tennis team played hard, but lost to No. 32 Nebraska, 5-2, today at Gates Tennis Center.

The Pioneers fall to 2-9 overall with their sixth straight loss, while the Huskers improve to 9-4.

The loss was also DU's seventh against ranked opponents. Despite the tough schedule and team record, DU head coach Danny Westerman is optimistic as the Pioneers head into spring break.

"We have played an extremely difficult schedule so far, but i have no doubt that this will make us stronger at the end of the season," Westerman said. "I am excited to go on our spring break trip to San Diego with our team to get some great training done and finish the week off playing against some good teams."

No. 54 Enej Bonin (Koper, Slovenia) beat No. 110 Chris Aumueller 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Jens Vorkefeld (Ostercappeln, Germany) beat #123 Benedikt Lindheim at No. 3 singles.

Denver returns to action at the San Diego Invitational on March 17-19.
