No. 38 Nebraska Beats Denver, 4-3

LINCOLN, Neb. - The University of Denver men's tennis team fell to No. 38 Nebraska 4-3 on Friday night at the Nebraska Indoor Tennis Center.

The Huskers (2-2) grabbed the doubles point by claiming wins at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Nebraska also claimed three singles victories in the 4-3 win. DU falls to 1-5 with the loss.

"We battled extremely hard again tonight, but we didn't execute in some critical moments," head coach Danny Westerman said. "Every team we play is either an NCAA Tournament team or has a good chance to make it, so every match will be this close. The more we are in these situations, the better we will handle them in the future."

Senior Yannick Weihs (Guntramsdorf, Austria), junior Fabio Biasion (Velbert, Germany) and redshirt-junior Max Krammer (Perchtoldsdorf, Austria) recorded singles victories for the Pioneers. Weihs defeated Andre Stenger 6-1, 1-6, 7-6 at No. 3 singles, while Biasion earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Robert Schulze at No. 4 singles. Krammer defeated Tom Blackwell 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.

Denver continues action in Lincoln, Neb., on Sat., Feb. 11 against East Tennessee State at 5 p.m. MT.
