DENVER, COLO.- The University of Denver men's tennis team fell to No. 60 Texas Tech, 6-1 at Gates Tennis Center on Friday.
The Pioneers trailed Texas Tech 1-0 after losing two of three doubles matches. Senior Fabio Biasion (Velbert, Germany) won his first match since returning to the lineup on Feb. 22, when he and Henry Craig (Murrieta, Calif.) defeated Felipe Soares and Jeff Bryan 8-5 in No. 2 doubles play.
Pioneer senior Enej Bonin (Koper, Slovenia) and junior Alex Clinkenbeard (Loveland, Colo.) returned to lineup after being sidelined by injuries. Bonin was limited to only doubles play, while Clinkenbeard fell in the No. 5 singles spot to Francisco Zambron.
Senior Jens Vorkefeld (Ostercappeln, Germany) played in the No.1 singles spot again, but fell to Vitor Manzini, 6-3, 6-3. Redshirt senior Max Krammer (Perchtoldsdorf, Austria) picked up the Pioneers only singles victory, defeating Soares 6-3, 7-6.
The Pioneers look to regroup when they battle No. 61 Arizona on Sunday, Mar. 10. The match will take place at CAC Inverness at 1 p.m. (MT).
